The publication of the scientific journal “Bulletin of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. Astronomy” began in 1958. The first five issues were published under different series titles:

Issue 1 (1958): Bulletin of Kyiv University. Series of Astronomy, Mathematics, and Mechanics. Editor-in-Chief: Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR Y. Z. Shtokalo.

Issue 5 (1962): Bulletin of Kyiv University. Series of Astronomy, Physics, and Chemistry. Editor-in-Chief: Prof. O. Z. Holyk.
The Editorial Board included Prof. S. K. Vsekhsvyatsky and Assoc. Prof. O. F. Bohorodsky.
Starting from Issue 6 (1964), the publication was titled the Astronomy Series.
O. F. Bohorodsky served as the Editor-in-Chief until 1973 (Issue No. 15). Since 1974 (Issue No. 16), the position of Editor-in-Chief has been held by:
